give the gift of home this holiday season

Giggles carried through the air as Mackenzie, Kaitlyn, and Kimberly ran and played on the grass where one day, very soon, their new home will stand. We got to meet these three beautiful sisters and their mom and dad out on the piece of property where all of their hard work will pay off and their dream of homeownership will become a reality.

Allen and Mandy Ford applied for the Habitat homeownership program in March of this year with a desire to build a safer, more secure future for their daughters. The family currently rents a small, mobile home that is in need of extensive repairs.

Allen, who works long hours as a manager with a local landscaping company, said he wants to provide a safe home for his family where they can grow better and stronger together. Mandy, who experienced homelessness as a child, says she wants to give her daughters a life where that is never a worry they have.

Meet the Ford Family

When asked what they are looking forward to most about their new home, Mackenzie, the oldest daughter, quickly blurted out “My own room!” Smiling, Allen and Mandy said they are looking forward to family cookouts, making new holiday traditions, and never having to worry about not having a safe place to call home.

Join us and help this special family celebrate their new home by Christmas of next year!

Through your gift to Habitat for Humanity of Horry County, you can come alongside the Ford family and others just like them working to build a better home and future for their family!
